This YSL, they call it ENVELOPE BAG, I hear it’s all the rage now. My granddaughter, she’s always on that phone, showed me. Said it’s a must-have. Well, I don’t know about must-have, but it’s a pretty thing, I’ll give it that.
They say this fella, Anthony Vaccarello, he’s the one who made it. Sounds Italian. Anyway, he made it way back in 2018. Resort, they called it. I reckon that’s when rich folks take their fancy vacations. It’s got this flap, see, and a chain, kinda like a fancy mailbox, all quilted up with them pointy lines, like rows of corn, only fancier. The lines are all slanty, they call that “chevron.”

My granddaughter kept talking about that.
I heard someone say they like the ENVELOPE style better. They said it can be used day or night. I guess it means you can take it to the market and then to a dance. The other one, the “College,” they call it, it’s more, how did they say it? “Rocker.” Like them rock and roll fellas. I don’t know about that. Sounds a little wild to me. My granddaughter was reading me these things, people talking about these bags online, in a “forum.” Sounds like a place where folks in togas used to argue. Anyway, some folks like ’em, some don’t. Just like everything else, I reckon. Some said the leather is soft. But that can be a problem, ’cause it might get scratched up easy. Gotta be careful with it. Like handling a newborn baby, almost.
Now, if you’re gonna be Purchasing one of these YSL ENVELOPE BAG, you better have a good chunk of change. They ain’t cheap, these things. More expensive than a month’s worth of groceries, that’s for sure. But my granddaughter, she says it’s an “investment.” Like planting seeds, I guess. Hoping it’ll grow into something even more valuable. I don’t know about that. Seems like a lot of money for a bag. But young people, they have a lot of money. She has a lot of bags.

My granddaughter, she loves these bags. She’s got a whole bunch of ’em. Different colors, different shapes. She says she’ll get me one someday. Maybe for my birthday. I told her I’d rather have a new set of pots and pans, but she just laughed. Young folks these days. They got different ideas about what’s important. They like these YSL BAG.
