Okay, so I’ve been wanting to remake a PRADA Medium Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag for a while now, and I finally went for it. I got all the stuff I needed for this project, the materials and tools and all that. It was a bit of a challenge, but hey, who doesn’t love a good challenge?

First, I studied some original bags to get a good sense of what I was dealing with. I carefully took apart a sample bag, piece by piece. I made sure to label everything so I wouldn’t get confused later. I gotta say, taking it apart was a bit nerve-wracking, but I managed.

Then, I started tracing each piece onto my leather. This Saffiano leather is the real deal, so I made sure to get every line just right. Cutting the leather took forever. My hands were cramping up, but I pushed through.

Assemble the Pieces

  • I began stitching the main body pieces together.
  • It was slow going, but I double-checked every stitch to make sure it was sturdy.
  • Added the lining, which was a bit tricky with all the curves and corners.

Next up, the handles. Man, those were tough! I had to shape them just right, and attaching them to the bag was a whole other story. I think I redid the handles like three times before I was satisfied.

The little details were what really made this project tough. I spent hours getting the hardware just right. The logo, the zippers, the little feet at the bottom. You wouldn’t believe how much time those little things take.

Finally, after days of work, I finished it. I stepped back and looked at my masterpiece. It looked pretty darn close to the original, if I do say so myself. The leather was perfect, the stitching was on point, and the details were all there.

I’m not gonna lie, this was one of the hardest projects I’ve ever done. But seeing the finished product made it all worth it. I’m super proud of how it turned out, and I can’t wait to show it off. I learned a lot, messed up a few times, but hey, that’s all part of the process, right?
