Well, folks, I gotta tell ya about this bag I’ve been workin’ on. It’s a remake of that fancy Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. They call it a classic, and I reckon they’re right. I saw this bag and I thought I had to give it a try, so I did.
First off, I started by lookin’ at the original bag. Studied it real good. Noticed how it’s put together, the shape, the size, everything. This bag, it’s got a certain look to it, ya know? Simple, but classy.
- I got me some leather. Good, strong stuff. Feels right to the touch.
- Then, I measured and cut the leather. Gotta be precise, otherwise, it won’t look right.
- Sewed it all together. Took my time with this part. Stitching has to be neat.
- Added the straps, the lining, all the little bits and pieces.
The lock on this thing, it’s kinda special. I made it outta brass, shiny and gold-colored. Looks just like the one on the real bag. And I put that YSL name on it, just like the original. Small, but you can see it if you look close.
Now, I’ve made a few of these bags. Played around with different colors of leather. Black, brown, even a kinda reddish one. They all look pretty good if I do say so myself.
This bag, it ain’t just for show. It’s practical, too. You can fit a good amount of stuff in there. Wallet, phone, keys, whatever else you need to carry around. And it’s sturdy. It’ll last ya a good long while.
Putting It All Together
After I finished sewing and adding all the hardware, I gave the bag a good once-over. Checked all the seams, made sure the lock worked right, and polished up the brass. It’s all in the details, as they say.
Making this bag, it was a real learning experience. I always did enjoy creating things with my hands. And this bag, it’s somethin’ special. It’s got that classic look that never goes outta style. Reminds me of them old movies, ya know? Classy folks carrying classy bags.
So, there ya have it. That’s the story of how I made this Remake Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. It was a fun project, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Hope y’all enjoyed hearin’ about it.
