Alright, so I wanted to try and remake that YSL LE CARRÉ SATCHEL BAG. You know, the one that’s super popular right now? I saw it online and thought, “Hey, I could probably do that!”

First, I started looking everywhere for info about this bag. I checked out a bunch of websites that sell fancy stuff, and they had some pictures and details. I even found some reviews – one website had, like, 3,000 of them! Some people were saying it was good and they ship stuff out fast, but that wasn’t really helpful for what I was trying to do.

I found a couple of places talking about “Saint Laurent Le Carr Bags” and “authentic Yves Saint Laurent Le Carre Satchel Bag,” which, you know, is the same thing. One site mentioned it was part of some “Spring/Summer 2021 Collection” by some designer named Anthony Vaccarello. That’s cool, but it didn’t help me figure out how to make it.

Then I dug a bit deeper and found out that YSL, or Saint Laurent, is this French luxury brand started in 1961. They’re super famous and all that. Someone in a comments section was saying that their stuff is really well-made, but you’re basically paying five times more just because it’s YSL. It’s like Chanel or Dior – you’re paying for the name, not just the bag.

Anyway, after all that searching, I felt like I had a pretty good idea of what the bag looked like and the materials it’s made from. I just figured I have to get some leather and give it a shot. Then I tried to search for some leather and find some tools. After I got all the materials, I started cutting and sewing, following the pictures I found online. I made a rough version first to try to put the different parts together. There are some differences, for example, the logo part.

It took a while, and it wasn’t perfect, but I managed to make something that looks pretty similar to the real YSL LE CARRÉ SATCHEL BAG. It was a fun project, and I learned a lot about bag making along the way. It is not an easy job, though. I really admire those people who can make good bags. I don’t think I will try this kind of stuff again in the near future!
